A course for early-stage Shopify brands

You're paying to acquire customers
you're not keeping.

Most early-stage brands have the same issue.

They're spending on ads, testing creatives, and chasing lower CPCs while customers they already paid to acquire quietly disappear after one purchase.

It's not a traffic problem. It's a retention problem. And until you fix the foundation, scaling your ad spend just means losing money faster.

"A 5% improvement in retention can increase profit by 25 to 95%. You don't need more customers. You need to keep the ones you have."

Five modules. Five areas where Shopify stores leak revenue.

Each module includes a diagnosis section, the commercial case for fixing it, a concrete implementation guide, a quick-win action you can take in 48 hours, and a checklist to track what's live.

Module 01

First Impressions & Onboarding

Build the welcome sequence that turns a first purchase into a second one.

Module 02

Reducing Friction

Fix the checkout and product page gaps that quietly kill conversion and repeat purchase.

Module 03

Email & CRM Strategy

The full Klaviyo flow stack you need and a campaign approach that doesn't train your list to expect discounts.

Module 04

Customer Service as Retention

Turn every support interaction into a loyalty decision you win.

Module 05

Metrics, Discounting & the Numbers That Matter

LTV:CAC ratio, repurchase rate, discount discipline. The data habits that tell you what's working and what isn't.

Who it's for

This is for you if...

This is not for you if you're looking for a beginner's guide to setting up Shopify, or if you're already running a sophisticated retention programme and hitting strong LTV numbers. This course is for brands that are live and growing but haven't yet locked down the retention fundamentals.

Samantha Goodwin — Leithen Lane

I've spent 10+ years running a profitable DTC subscription brand, building the Shopify, Klaviyo, and Recharge systems myself, managing fulfilment in-house and through 3PLs, and learning where the revenue leaks are by watching them happen in real time.

I'm not an agency. I'm an operator who's done this work, and I built this course to share the framework I actually use. Everything in it is practical, implementation-focused, and based on what works in a real business.

Questions

A few things people ask

Do I need to be using Klaviyo?

The email modules are written with Klaviyo in mind, since it's the platform most Shopify brands use for serious CRM work. The strategic frameworks apply to any email tool, but the specific flow logic assumes Klaviyo.

How long will it take to go through?

Plan for around 90 minutes per module if you're reading and taking action as you go. The goal is to implement, not just read, so build that time in. You can also work through individual modules if you already know where your biggest gap is.

I'm very early-stage. Is this relevant?

If you have customers coming through the door and you're spending anything on acquisition, yes. The earlier you build these foundations, the less revenue you lose in the meantime. The course is written for brands that are live and making sales, not pre-launch.

What if I want hands-on help, not a course?

The course is designed to be actionable on its own. If you work through it and decide you'd rather have someone implement alongside you, I offer an operations audit through Leithen Lane. Get in touch via the contact page.
